Regional Economic Development Manager

The Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils is looking for a special individual to drive the implementation of its recently endorsed new Regional Economic Development Strategy 2019-2024.

The Wide Bay Burnett region has a population of 300,000 and borders the Darling Downs, Central Queensland and the Noosa/Sunshine Coast regions.

The Regional Economic Development Manager position is an exciting new role where the right person can "pave the way" and make a great mark in the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the implementation of WBBROC's Regional Economic Development Strategy
  • Develop and enhance partnerships with local governments, state government agencies, business organisations and non-government organisations

This role is subject to an annual performance review and meeting KPIs related to the role. The role will attract a salary package of $140K.

Engineering Undergraduate Professional Placement - Asset Condition Assessments

 

WBBROC has obtained funding to engage undergraduate engineering students to assist with asset condition assessments and other technical projects across the region's water and sewerage networks. The intention is to complete projects that assist in regional collaboration as well as providing undergraduates with exposure to the many opportunities for engineering careers in the utilities sector and local government. These placements will benefit undergraduates by providing RPEQ certified placements as part of their qualifications.
